Legendary, highly acclaimed and Grammy Nominated Guitarist and songwriter Gary Lucas goes head to head with the young highly respected British Electronic outfit The Dark Poets on a remarkable album that has people talking - Not to be missed! Gary Lucas is the worlds leading avant rock guitarist and has collaborated with greats such as Leonard Bernstein, Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley, Chris Cornell, Lou Reed, John Cale, Nick Cave, Bryan Ferry, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, Electronic Gods 'The Future Sound of London' and Allen Ginsberg amongst many others.

Gary Lucas original versions of his legendary work with the late great Jeff Buckley, tracks 'Grace' and 'Mojo Pin' even appear on the album in their original instrumental form (As 'And You will' and 'Rise up to be') Also featuring original tracks and mixes by 'The Dark Poets'. Soundtrack designers for the popular metal band 'Cradle of Filth' horror movie 'Cradle of Fear' (Alex Chandon 2001) and multi award winning short film '’Borderline' (Alex Chandon 2006). The album also includes a remix by British electronic Techno legends 'The Grid'

The Forthcoming Enhanced CD includes visionary director 'Alex Chandon's stunning short film 'Borderline' (Music by 'The Dark Poets') - Winner of Saatchi award for best new director Cannes 2007. The film toured Internationally with festivals including Onedotzero and Rezfest and picked up numerous awards ( U.S./Europe/Australia/Middle East/Far East). 'Borderline' went on to be screened at the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, and is currently being used to promote the London 2012 Olympics. 'Borderline' has been chosen for the British Film Institutes national archive.

'Beyond The Pale' features Gary Lucas' original guitar tracks from Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' the only complete studio album by Jeff Buckley, released in 1994 . The album is named after the title track, "Grace," co-written by Buckley and Gary Lucas. (Appearing in it's original instrumental form on 'Beyond The Pale') it received wide critical acclaim. It has now sold over 3 million copies worldwide. In 2006, Mojo Magazine named Grace the #1 Modern Rock Classic of all Time.

Enhanced CD is set for release and will feature CD Video of Alex Chandon's stunning short film 'Borderline'. Soundtrack by 'The Dark Poets'.

Versions of Beyond The Pale's opening track 'The Judgement at Midnight (Dusk To Dawn Mix)' first appeared in two seperate forms on the Gary Lucas albums 'Improve The Shining Hour' and 'Evangeline'. Versions of 'Judgement at Midnight' were concieved during a period when Gary Lucas was working on a soundtrack for a documentary on a death row inmate for ABC News (also titled 'Judgement at Midnight'.) This version was recorded by Gary Lucas on National Steel Guitar during sessions with James R. Hunter of The Dark Poets at Fortress Studios in London, early 2007. The track was then extensively layered and remixed the at The Dark Poets studios in Hampshire, UK. The resulting 'Dusk to Dawn Mix' of 'The Judgement at Midnight' also went on to be released on 2008's Some Bizzare Double Album 'The Only Failure Is To Cease To Try' - it immediately became the albums top selling download.

Originally presented to Gary Lucas as a stripped down breakbeak track - Gary Lucas added his sweeping guitar magic during a session in London. The track was then remixed. The first Dark Poets collaboration to feature vocalist and songwriter Sarah Hilliard. The track was well reacted to by DJ's, Clubs and clubbers, including amongst others 'Sabres of Paradise' and 'Fabric'. Music Press, Magazine and Newspaper critics made comparisons between 'The Dark Poets' and bands such as 'Cabaret Voltaire', 'Tubeway Army' and 'Joy Division'.

The content of the 'robotic' vocal on this track was compiled entirely from various medical and government research papers into the effects of 'Cult programming', 'Psychological Warfare', and 'Brainwashing'. The monologue of the track outlines a brief history of past and current western and Communist Government 'Thought Reform' tecniques.

Atmospheric 'Drum and Bass' Epic opened by Gary Lucas's haunting guitar solo. Gary did his entire original guitar take live - utilising and simultaniously controlling an impressive number of guitar effects units. The track features vocal samples of cult British actress/model 'Emily Bouffant' and actor 'Stuart Laing' (amongst others) from Alex Chandon's 'Cradle of Filth' Feature Film 'Cradle of Fear'. 2001 Pragmatic Pictures (Starring 'Cradle of Filth' Lead singer and Goth-Metal pin-up 'Dani Filth'). Much of the original score to the film was produced by 'Dark Poets' James R. Hunter and Leigh Dunning. It's a little known fact that 'The Dark Poets' own James R. Hunter has a brief cameo in the movie.
