Now Available from itunes/Amazon Mp3 etc. Our stomping Club remix for our London pal 'Lee Being's Electro New Wave outift 'The Problem Being'. This Featured as a B-side remix for their single 'Electro Is Dead' and turns out have been quite popular in it's own right. For some reason that has absolutley nothing to do with us - it's listed on Amazon and iTunes as 'The Dead Poets Remix'.....and we have to point out we're not 'The Dead Poets'.

A Dark Poets reworking of a theme by Gary Lucas. Gary has released previous incarnations of 'Judgement at Midnight' as part of various projects. This Dark Poets remix from the album "Beyond The Pale" Also went on to be released on the Some Bizzare Double Album "The Only Failure Is To Cease To Try" and has proven to be a very popular download. Crazy - The Dark Poets

Mixed by an overly agressive Leigh and James - This track was dubbed "A bad trip inverse to handbag house" according to Wire Magazine (in a good way we hope!). The track featured on a 25 year celebratory release on Some Bizzare/Universal. A great compilation album that we were proud to be a part of. Also featuring Soft Cell, Monkey Farm Frankenstein, Meka, Depeche Mode, Einsturzende Neubauten, Mainstream Distortion, Foetus, The The, Cabaret Voltaire, Dave Ball, Test Dept, ZGA, Psychic TV and The Grid.

Commissioned by Alex Chandon for his Cradle of Fear feature starring Black Metal God Dani Filth and the gorgeous Emily Bouffante amongst others...A genre nodding tip naturally going out to John Carpenter. This track usually goes down pretty well live. The soundtrack album also featured Calyx, Quicksilver, Cradle of Filth, Intense, Rugged Vinyl, MK Ultra and Lungworm, Jezebel, Slacker and D.O.P.E.

Early Dark Poets track...a little cheeky chilled out little Acid workout. Made making the most of an Akai SO1, a Freebass 383, a dodgy effects unit and a cheap synth. Live tweaking by James. Has cropped up on numerous videos and indie films etc... people seem to like this one.

More 'Dead Steps' tracks will continue to be added to this site as part of an ongoing online album, and available for free download before becoming part of a collected official release... so for the meantime please enjoy these free mp3s courtesy of us. Please do not trade in illegal downloads... however these are free from our dark tortured hearts and for your listening pleasure. Enjoy... it's an eclectic mix...

Leighs Mix of 'the score' featuring the gorgeous vocals of guest singer - the beautiful and genuinely lovely Claire Rackley. Another early Dark Poets track that people seem to like. There's been various versions and mixes. This early live demo version of the track was thrown together in a makeshift midi studio in a few hours by Leigh, James and Claire and then remixed again by Leigh. The random stream of conciousness song lyrics were inspired following the death of an evening out raving... sat around in paranoid confusion wondering what it was all about, whilst watching coke-heads picking their noses and eating it... sheesh... have some f**king standards!

Cheeky cartoon vocal cunning by London Rapper and Graffitti artist 'Doctor Zadok'. Framed in a Hip-Hop Jazz sylee by the Dark Poets. We havn't seen much of Zadok of late... however, he brightened up our neck of the woods considerably with his spray paint and vocal skills whilst he was down here...word on the wire is that he's touring the London underground and is doing very well for himself indeed. Keep an eye out for him...coming to a wall near you soon.

This track came into being just after our 'Cradle of Fear' period. It's a kind of medly of several mixes we'd done that were around at the time. This mix by Leigh, heavily referencing our track 'It doesn't matter' from the COF soundtrack album hasn't been made available before... so enjoy with fresh ears.
